What's les mis about?

Jean Valjean is an ex-convict struggling to make his way in the world after being unjustly imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. An act of kindness from a local priest sets him on a new course as he turns his life around. Flash forward 17 years and Paris is in disarray, the rich ruling class treating the working class with malcontent that none deserve. Tensions reach a tipping point and multiple stories come to a head in the epic musical.

Simply the best

I have seen many Broadway and touring productions of Les Miserables. I have never seen one as well done as this one. Every performer playing every role was magnificent. I have never seen any audience as involved, enthused and appreciative as this one was- going from boisterous applause, to laughter, to absolute silence. Every scene whether solo or ensemble, whether vocal or dance was beyond impressive. The staging and set design brilliantly integrated technology and tradition in a way that added much to the production but never distracted from the amazing talent of all those on the stage. Les Miserables

This is the fourth time I've seen Les Mis. It is by far my most favorite musical production. The Van Wezel performance at the 2:00 matinee this Wednesday was the best of the four I've seen. Every lead voice was excellent. The sets were great. The interpretation of story was different than any other, in the best possible way. Victor Hugo was genius. This company brought the intentin of his script to life in the very best way. All our human traits, the desperation to the elation, and everything in between was masterfully given to us, your audience, by your stellar performances. Thank you. ... Read more
